This allows you to make really significant savings and use your electricity at a time to suit you. There are ‘export tariffs’ available which permit you to sell your excess electricity back to the grid, thereby making you even more savings!

How do I make money by selling my excess electricity back to the Grid?

A: When we install your system, we will send details of your installation and your MPAN number to the National Grid. They will generate a new MPAN number to share with your energy company so that you can start using a flexible tariff. This enables you to use energy generated in the day during the night, when energy is cheaper on some tariffs. We can help you to choose an energy company and tariff that is right for you.

Q: What does Solar PV stand for?

A: It’s an acronym for Solar photo-voltaic panels. These panels contain photo-voltaic cells, which convert sunlight into electricity.

Q: Does it matter where solar panels go?

A: Generally, solar panels are mounted on a suitable roof, however they can also be ground mounted. Ideally Solar PV panels are most effective when mounted on a South facing surface at an angle between 30 and 45 degrees. However, solar panels are still very effective mounted east-west. Solar Panel technology is improving all the time, and now there are panels which can even face north and still make a valuable contribution on certain installations.
